4 janv. 1947 - Manchester Mark I Williams-Kilburn tub

Description:

The first high-speed entirely electronic memory was created by Freddie Williams and Tom Kilburn at Manchester University. It was called the Williams-Kilburn tube. The Tube would store bits as dots on the screen and each dot lasted a fraction of a second as the information was constantly being refreshed. A metal pickup plate would read the information and detect a change in electrical charge.
