16 déc. 2005 - Border Protection, Anti-Terrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act; 2005

Description:

The Border Protection, Anti-Terrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act was a legislative that was sponsored by Homeland Security Chairman Peter King and Judiciary Chairman James Sensenbrenner. It passed on December 16th of the year 2005 by the House of Representatives.
The purpose of this act was to address illegal immigration; this was done so by making the interior enforcement of immigration laws denser. To strengthen the immigration laws, a lot of alterations were made: violations were taken more seriously, definitions were expanded, time of allowance was shortened, reaffirmations of states authorities, requirements were added, and funds were authorized. Other than to strengthen, the act also enacted additional border security measures such as new technology to assist monitoring, a security committee, extra funds for enforcement activities, and additional fencing.
