Description:

Mao started the program called the Cultural Revolution. This program got rid of the “old ideas” and used the new generation of students as his base of support.

Red Guards were young people who led the revolution. They ruined ancient works of art and destroyed culture.

Violence was common. Often people were beaten, killed, or imprisoned if they were thought to be against Mao’s views

Mao created the “Little Red Book” which contained all of this thoughts and teachings about how people should think about life.
