1 janv. 1789 - Discovery of Uranium
Description:
Uranium oxide was used to make yellow colouring for ceramic glazes in the past. Uranium was officially discovered in 1789, Germany by Martin Klaproth. He was studying pitchblende that was believed to be zinc or iron, he dissolved the pitchblende in nitric acid and added potash. He accidentally added too much potash and it dissolved the yellow precipitate. The reacts were not characteristics of any known element, so he declared that discovered a new element, naming it after the recently discovered planet. Uranus. Uranium is used in nuclear power plants to produce energy that is far more efficient and doesn't use as much as coal does. Uranium can also be used as nucelar weapons or when lowered radioacitviy urniaum which they can use it for its high density
