The Immigration Reform and Control Act (or the Simpson-Mazzoli Act) is signed into law. The act prohibited hiring illegal immigrants which increased discrimination against all workers who seemed at all “foreign”.La Ley de Reforma y Control de la Inmigración (o la Ley Simpson-Mazzoli) se promulga. La ley prohibió la contratación de inmigrantes ilegales, lo que aumentó la discriminación contra todos los trabajadores que parecían en absoluto "extranjeros".
