Description:
Khrushchev was the new leader of the Soviet Union when Stalin died. He was very different from Stalin; he wanted a peaceful co-existence with the west and wanted people in Eastern Europe to have more independence.
DESTALINISATION - Khrushchev wanted to undo some of Stalin's policies that Khrushchev saw as backwards and too harsh.
