1 janv. 597 av. J.-C. - Nebuchadnezzar's first siege of Jerusalem
Description:
Nebuchadnezzar lays siege to Jerusalem, leading to the surrender and capture of Jehoiachin (sometimes referred to as Jeconiah) King of Judah.
Nebuchadnezzar chooses Zedekiah as King of Judah as a vassal ruler.
Events are outlined both in the Bible (2 Kings 24), and the cuneiform tablet known as the Nebuchadnezzar Chronicle.
Ultimately, Zedekiah revolts against Nebuchadnezzar a few years later. This leads to the destruction of Jerusalem in 589-586BC.
