1 janv. 1829 - David Walker starts publishing "Walker's appeal" pamphlets

Description:

David Walker, son of a slave, but born free in North Carolina, moved to Boston, where he sold old clothes. It is there he started publishing these well known pamphlets. Southern slaveholders were so enraged by his words that Georgia offered $10,000 to anyone that would deliver Walker alive, and $1,000 dead.

"...show me the page of history, either sacred or profane, on which a verse can be found, which maintains, that... [blacks] were not of the human family."
