A book published in 1930 by Fisher, it continued to develop his past work by working to combine the ideas and theories of Mendel and Darwin and began to define population genetics. It is regarded as possibly being one of the most important published book discussing modern synthesis. It is again a large part of the modern understanding and theory of evolution, and was fairly in line with developing already held beliefs in science at that time.
