Description:
The main temple of the Temple Complex at Abu Simbel is carved into the side of a cliff by the Nile River. It's creator, Ramses III, built the main temple for himself and a smaller temple for his favorite wife, Nefertari. There are four 66-foot-tall statues of Ramses III framin the enterance to the main temple.
