John Hinckley Jr. shot President Reagan outside of the Hilton Hotel in Washington D.C. after he addressed the building and construction workers UNion of the AFL-CIO. He was armed with a .22 revolver, when he shot the president he was only 10 feet away but the bullets did not explode like they were supposed to and Hinckley had a poor shot. His first shot it Secretary James Brady and others hit police officers and secret service agents.
