November 2002-July 2003 SARS happened, affecting 1718 people in Hong Kong, 253 of them died. The SARS first victim was a man from vietnam. He started coughing really badly so he went to the hospital. He died before they could save him but by then the disease started to spread amongst the hospital workers. From there it spread around the world and was classified as a world class threat. Many people tried to save the ones with SARS but they too got it. No one really knows how the man got SARS although scientists suspect it transferred from animals to human.Ajouté au bande de temps:
