22 janv. 1973 - Abortion is legalized (Roe v Wade)

Description:

This court case is known as Roe v Wade because the case was filed by some known as Jane Roe against the District attorney of Dallas County, Henry Wade (he enforced a Texas law that banned abortion unless it is to save a women's life). The court decided that a woman's right to an abortion is under the right of privacy in the Fourteenth Amendment. This decision allowed women to have an abortion during the entire pregnancy.

Significance: Gives more rights to women and allows women to be more independent and think for themselves.
