Description:
SCISAT is a Candian satellite launched August 12th, 2003. It’s tiny, only 150kg, and it circles the Earth about 15 times a day. It's designed to monitor the ozone layer and how it’s depleting. Armed with a Fourier-transform spectrometer and MAESTRO (Measurements of Aerosol Extinction in the Stratosphere and Troposphere Retrieved by Occultation), SCISAT is the most accurate ozone-tracking satellite to date.
