On season two, episode three, after a moment of self-realization, Issa Rae’s character in Insecure blasts this song by female rapper, Rico Nasty. The chorus, beginning with the lyrics, “I’m a poppin’ a** b****, let me remind you,” precedes a song full of self-affirmations. Rico Nasty released this song as a single, and then included it within the track list of her second mix tape, Sugar Trap 2. The mix tape still has not been released, but the first three songs are currently available to be streamed on Apple Music. I first encountered this song while watching insecure. It is now one of the most played songs in my music library.
