1 mai 1866 - Split of Unconditional Union Party
Description:
The Unconditional Union Party was a group of staunch unionists that helped ensure Baltimore remained a union town throughout the war and strongly supported Federal policies, including the 13th Amendment being passed. The split of the party into the Radical party and the Conservative party created opportunity for Democrats to regain power.
