Miguel Primo de Rivera was the Dictator of Spain from September of 1923 to January of 1930. His regime was nationalistic and authoritarian. Primo de Rivera's regime failed however and only lasted for a period of less than 7 years and ended with him resigning due to the public outcry. He died a few months after he resigned. Primo de Rivera obtained his power from the Spanish throne after a coup d’état. His first moves were to dissolve the Spanish parliament and to suspend the Constitutional guarantees.
