There was a reported 400,000 unemployed in 1931, and this number rose to a whopping 600,000 in 1933. Along with Spanish industrial production only being 3/4ths of what it was in 1929, 30% of iron production falling, and other metals dropping by 50%, Spain would experience a detrimental drop in their economy making in unstable and causing more conflict.
