29 oct. 1933 - Establishment of the Falange
Description:
The Falange were and extreme nationalist political group. This group was founded by Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera the son of Miguel Primo de Rivera. The group would try to gain support through parades and use of the media. However in its first three years the group was unsuccessful and won little votes in the election. Also many of the Falanges leaders were later arrested and shot. However the significance of the Falange was made more clear when Franco took over and gaining a membership of about 250,000. Many Falangists would later fight alongside Franco in the Spanish Civil War. Also after the Nationalist victory in the civil war nationalist groups like the Falange would become more popular.
