15 mars 1939 - German Appeasement

Description:

The German Appeasement was the name given to the Britain policy which allowed Hitler to expand German territory unchecked. The appeasement was agreed on because Chamberlain wanted Germany to be strong and be a barrier against Russia. The British wanted peace and the complaints coming from Hitler were reasonable at the time; his most important reason/complaint was about the Treaty of Versailles. The end result from the appeasement was that it delayed Hitler’s advancing forces and also that Britain and France appeased Hitler allowing Germany to cease control of surrounding territories.
