1 nov 1933 - Right Wing Takes Over In Elections

Description:

This election was the start of a series of event over a three year time period where the Republic that had just been built started to fall. During these elections, women were allowed to vote so there were a lot more people in the country who could voice their opinions. The results of the elections, which had a new electoral system put in place earlier that year, were that CEDA came out on top with 115 seats and the radicals and 102 seats and the PSOE with only 59 seats. This turned the government right.
