6 avr. 1896 - First ever modern Olympics
Description:
What is now an iconic event played every four years, really started 1244 years ago in Greece in a place called Olympus. They were played to honour their Gods.
It wasn't until Baron Pierre de Coubertin decided to try and start it up again. The first ever modern Olympics were then held in Athens. The first person to win a gold metal was in triple jump by an American called James Connolly on April.
