Description:

Jacob S. Coxey- A wealthy Ohio quarry owner who led the “Coxey Army”, who demanded that the federal government provide the unemployed with meaningful work. When him, his family, and 400 other protesters they struggled their way into Washington where Coxey was arrested for walking on the grass. Although the protest dispersed peacefully, it, and the growing political strength of populism, still struck fear into the hearts of many Americans.
