Description:

Revolts in response to the police raid of the Stonewall Inn which served. At the time, homosexual acts remained illegal in every state except Illinois, and bars and restaurants could get shut down for having gay employees or serving gay patrons. Police raids were very common, but on this particular night, the patrons decided to fight back. This sparked a series of revolts and riots by the LGBT community against the corrupt police force at the time.
