14 févr. 795 - Vikings attacked Celtic coastal monasteries

Description:

For the next 30-40 years, Vikings attacks on Ireland happened about once or twice a year. They were mostly interested in slaves and riches. Only a few instances where the Irish natives were able to stop them. The Vikings tried to get full control for a long time, but failed because they made the mistake of getting involved with Ireland's internal affairs. Viking reign and invasions ended in 1014. King Brian Boru defeated the army.
