Description:
Following the Mughal defeat at the battle of Buxar by the military forces of the East India Company, Mughal Emperor Shah Alam signs the unequal Treaty of Allahabad that grants the company the right to administer a large swath of North India (Bengal, Bihar, and Orissa).
