16 oct. 1859 - John Brown's Raid on Harpers Ferry (P & S)

Description:

John Brown (a abolitionist) along with a group of his supporters left in the morning of October 16th towards Harpers Ferry. Brown and his followers had managed to capture prominent citizens and take over the federal army and arsenal. His main goal was to have the local slave population join his raid. He had hoped that if the raid succeeded, weapons could be supplied to slaves and freedom fighters throughout the entire country.
