1 janv. 1831 - Nat Turner Rebellion (S & P)
Description:
Nat Turner was a slave who at one point in his life lived under an owner who gave his slaves considerable amounts of freedom and a good education. After his slave owner died his plantation was left in his brother, Samuel’s, hands. Turner was then forced to work in the fields and his intellectual studies were stopped. Turner’s frustration led him to killing over 50 whites in a revolt against slavery. This rebellion led to even more laws prohibiting African-Americans from their small amounts of freedom.
