27 juin 1950 - Truman announces that the US will aid South Korea

Description:

Truman decided to go the opposite route of appeasement because it was the spark of WWII. Instead, he decides to aid South Korea to repel the attack and restore international peace. Shortly after the UN Security Council unanimously voted to follow Truman's lead. The Soviet Union started to boycott the Security Council sessions because the UN wouldn't seat Mao's People's Republic of China.
