2 janv. 2010 - “great recession”.

Description:

During the year of 2010 the state's ability to fund public education systems started to deplead. It was said that the budget gaps that the states had to close was 55 million dollars and was a historically large amount. The great recession actually started in 2007 and is continuing to get worse. According to PHIL OLIFF, CHRIS MAI, AND VINCENT PALACIOS in their article titled States Continue to Feel Recession’s Impact they say that “States expect to educate 540,000 more K-12 students and 2.5 million more public college and university students in the upcoming school year than in 2007-08.[1] And some 4.8 million more people are projected to be eligible for subsidized health insurance through Medicaid in 2012 than were enrolled in 2008, as employers have cancelled their coverage and people have lost jobs and wages” this is bad because then as costs go up teachers get fired and get payed less which causes unemployment
