Description:

Though grounded for twelve years, on the eve of their first flight Jakon and Mouri announce their second venture to the heavens, this time with the express intent of landing on Mars and returning with samples of minerals to prove their success. Their vessel, the Juno MK.2 begins its initial launch well, with the vessels energy signature matching all anticipated values, yet, just as the drive begins to rend space-time, a spike in cosmic radiation signifies disaster as the event-horizon of the slip-way exceeds the Juno's ability to contain it. The vessel is consumed in a torrent of blazing white energy and vanishes. Jakon and Mouri are proclaimed deceased.
