Description:
In the Elizabeth period, the most famous theatre building was called the Globe.
- Open- air theatre
- No light, so performances could only be given in daytime.
- The stage was a large platform, jutting out from the end wall to the yard or arena.
- Ordinary people stood around the three sides of the stage
- Roofed galleries with seats to the rich people
- Curtains to divide the stage from the audience
