This is a turning point because after the assassination of Julius Caesar: massive protests happened and nearly every Roman citizen wanted there to be an emperor. This caused the shift of Rome from a Republic to an Empire.
Progress:
The rule of Julius Caesar and the conversion to the Roman Empire led to major strives in the economy and their architectural achievements. Ancient Rome would become very advanced for its time. There would still be flaws in the empire but it would be the biggest variable for Ancient Rome growing so large.
