4 janv. 1860 - Half and Half
Description:
At this point, so many Irish had immigrated to Lowell that they took up over half of the city's population. And as the Irish population was increasing, there was also a large influx of French Canadians who realized that their large families could make more money working in the Lowell mills. Each group of immigrants were also accused of lowering standards in the mills and city as a whole.
