Similarly to Google, social media offers advancement in technology and the spread of information. Instead of connected ideas with people, many social media platforms aim to connect people around the world. This would be a cultural/societal factor of globalization; the availability to use social media creates global connections. These global connections make it possible for countries to express new and old concerns to all. As much as this helps people like me talk to their friends and family worldwide, it’s also beneficial for companies as this low-cost and widespread availability of communication and information makes it very affordable for small and large businesses. However, these companies must be cautious of which markets they decide to enter next, because some countries view social media as harmful, such as mainland China banning social media as part of their totalitarian regime.
