1 août 35000 av. J.-C. - Cave Paintings

Description:

In prehistoric art, the term “cave paintings” encompasses any parietal art which involves the application of colour pigments on the walls, floors or ceilings of ancient rock shelters. A monochrome cave painting is a picture made with only one colour (usually black)-see, for instance, the monochrome images at Chauvet.

Cave paintings served as a warning to people who were to come later. For example, they could show the way to kill a beast or warn them of a beast.
