5 oct. 1789 - Women's March on Versailles
Description:
During the early years of the revolution, food prices in France were sky-high and the subject of many protests. One of these protests was the Women's March on Versailles. The goal of the march was to get the king to reside in Paris, among the people, rather than in Versailles. During the march, an attack on the royal palace caused the king to be "kindly persuaded" back to Paris.
