Description:

The battle of Saratoga in September and October 1777 was the decisive phase of the so-called Saratoga campaign fought during the American Revolutionary War. The battle ended with an overwhelming victory for the troops of the thirteen American colonies that forced the Anglo-German expedition of General John Burgoyne to surrender.
The American victory favored the entry into the French conflict alongside the rebel colonies, protected the northern states from new enemy attacks from Canada and prevented the isolation of New England.
