6 mars 1933 - Women Gain Political Recognition

Description:

Two days after President Roosevelt's inauguration, approximately 35 reporters gathered in the Red Room of the White House waiting for the First Lady. This was the first of what Eleanor Roosevelt promised would be weekly press conferences. Eleanor had been politically active even before she came to the White House as she helped women reporters keep their jobs.
