- Day 587
- Jesus sits everyone down in the Barrington House. He doesn't want to scare Carl but Rick assures him he wont. Jesus explains that almost as soon as the walls were built, Negan and the Saviors arrived and made a lot of demands and threats. Gregory, not being good at confrontation, bent over backwards and struck a deal with the Saviors. Half of everything in exchange for protection from empties. The Saviors are a roaming group of maniacs out on a killing spree to put it simply. The survivors are annoyed that they would just give in to a group who may not even be a real threat.
- Gregory isn't the type of leader Jesus would have chosen but the people at the hilltop seem to like him. He comments that Negan has been seen with groups as large as twenty, Jesus tried following them home but was seen and almost didn't escape. If they don't think the supplies are enough they'll sometimes beat up the delivery group or worse like today in order to send a message.
- Carl asks if they kill the Saviors, will the Hilltop start giving them half of their supplies? Rick says that confrontation hasn't been a big problem for them (see day 413 and 470) and they wouldn't even need half of everything, just enough. Jesus thinks it over.
