1 janv. 1981 - First Woman in the Supreme Court
Description:
Sandra Day O'Connor was the first woman to become a Supreme Court Justice. Ironically, her first case was for Mississippi University for Women v. Hogan in which a man sued to the nursing school for not being allowed to attend, since it was only for females at the time. O'Connor also voted in a case that reaffirmed the decision made in Roe v. Wade on abortion rights. Not only was O'Connor defying gender roles by being in a traditionally male dominated position, but she was voice for women everywhere within our justice system.
