1 janv. 1440 - Johannes Gutenberg Creates the Printing Press
Description:
In Germany, Gutenberg cast the alphabet on metal plates, and locked them into place on a wooden press. It was mobile. The printing press was very efficient compared to re-writing; his first print was a 1,282 page Bible, which took about 50 hours. More people learned to read, and the invention ultimately led to the creation of modern-day printers.
