- Day 586
- Michonne goes to get Rick who gets everyone armed and ready to potentially fight a massive group. The stranger is surprised that Rick is their leader and assumes that he's a badass for being able to boss around Abraham. Rick points his gun and tells him to let Abraham go. The man complies on the condition that Rick lowers his gun first, which he does. The man tosses Michonne's sword and pins Abraham's head down when he tries to punch him.
- Rick tells him to stand where he is as he clearly doesn't want to be close to him, armed or not. The man calmly introduces himself as Paul Monroe or 'Jesus' as his friends call him. Rick asks him how many friends he has to which Jesus tells him that he's from a community of almost two-hundred survivors. Rick asks where they are and what they want. Jesus tells him that they want everything they have as they could use it all. He then starts over as that didn't sound right and apologises for starting a fight, though he tried to diffuse it. He just hates weapons being pointed at him and didn't think before acting. Rick verifies this with Michonne who says the story is true.
- His group lives about twenty miles from Alexandria on the other side of Washington and they're in constant need of supplies. Rick tells him that they'll do anything to keep their supplies from him but Jesus reiterates that they don't want to take anything. He wants to establish a trade relationship between Alexandria and his community. They need bullets for example, as they ran out months ago and he only carries guns for show. His community is built around a farm so they have plenty of food and even clothing and tools.
- Rick doesn't believe that he came all the way here just to let them know about this but Jesus states that while he does scout for new communities, he had to make a supply drop at two others on the way. One of which heard gunfire not long ago but couldn't find them. Abraham asks for him to repeat himself about there being two other communities other than his own. Jesus asks if they think they're the only survivors out here?
- Rick asks if he wants them to join his network of communities which is what Jesus wants. He appears to be on board with the idea and goes to shake Jesus' hand before pulling him to the floor and knocking him out with a kick to the head. He orders the others to tie him up while he's out.
