9 déc. 1860 - South Carolina Secedes
Description:
Since the North was against slavery yet South Carolina was not, it decided to leave the Union. They did this because the institution of slavery was essential to their economy. South Carolina also believed that it could secede because it had joined the Union on its own free will. After South Carolina seceded, many other southern states followed suit.
