After only a week after the Battle of Coleto Creek, General Urrea asked General Santa Anna what to do with all the prisoners. Santa Anna told him to execute them all. The Mexican Army marched the Texans into a field. Many Texans thought they were being released, but instead, all the Mexican soldiers shot and killed almost all of them. Some soldiers managed to escape thanks to Francita Alvarez or the "Angel of Goliad". James Fannin had 3 requests about how he died, but the Mexican army didn't do any of them.
