When Domingo Ugartechea realizes that the Texans wouldn’t give up the canon it seemed like a threat to Mexico. He sends Francisco de Castaneda and a hundred dragoons to get it. He and his men had high waters and one hundred eighty militia men guarding Gonzales keeping them out, and he sent news to friends, as this happened Texans got ready to fight .They hid the canon in a peach orchard. The Mexicans got scared and began to march away and the Texans followed on October 1st Texans fired.
