Description:

King Darius III was present, Alexander fully engaged the Persian forces in Persia. The first battle on Persian soil when the king was present where the Persians were defeated. Persians outnumbered the Macedonians but lost. They were caught off guard and Darius III fled so fast he left behind his baggage train and his family so Alexander captured them. Darius offered 10,000 talents of silver for the safe return of his family, the hand of his daughter in marriage and all the land west of the Euphrates River. Alexander didn’t take the offer but did return Darius’s family.
