Description:
- Bennett passed Relief Act- created relief camps to support single, unemployed men
- ran according to military rules; very strict
- men worked on gov't projects for 20 cents a day
- camps were dirty and overcrowded
- by 1935, over 200 relief camps were set up
- most in northern ON or northern BC
