Description:

- workers didn't have minimum wage, the right to refuse unsafe work
- poor working conditions
- war veterans faced few job oppotunities
- gov't feared communist revolution, like in Russia

Strikers Wanted:
- higher wages (to pay for doubled food prices, support families, & pay for houses)
- better working conditions

- ended in deportation being made easier, many people imprisoned, and 2 deaths
