Description:
Eventually in 1973 a ceasefire was agreed ending almost a decade of brutal warfare. Approximately 1.3 million people died.In 1975, the south fell to communism and by 76, the North and South had been united as one country under the rule of communist leader Ho Chi Minh.
President Nixon announced the ed of the policy of containment.
